Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka is set to be subject to a crazy scramble of Premier League clubs for his signature, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool among the clubs chasing the player.

Out of contract in the summer, the 23-year-old centre-back looks increasingly likely to depart on a free transfer, making him a particularly attractive transfer target.

Previously, it was reported in Italy that Arsenal had reached an agreement to sign Ndicka, beating Jose Mourinho’s Roma to his signature, but that does not appear to be the case.

“This is a player that is hotly being pursued and will be tremendous value in the summer, assuming that no new contract is agreed with Eintracht Frankfurt,” transfer expert Ben Jacobs explained.

“There’s a mad, mad chase on all across Europe. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea potentially. Liverpool have kept an eye on him and a whole variety of others all across Europe. PSG is another option.

“He’s a top player, excellent value, 6 foot 4, modern defender, great season so far for Eintracht Frankfurt, can chip in with goals as well.”

Jacobs underlines that there’s no clear frontrunner for the player to have emerged from the pack of clubs chasing him.

“There are two things to quickly say here. Number one is that we have to bear in mind that a summer move is going to be absolutely a mad dash if the player’s available on a free transfer.

“The second thing is that naturally anything would be complicated should a new deal be signed. But at the moment the feeling is that the player is very seriously available on a free transfer.”

Ndicka, who came through the youth ranks at Auxerre before moving to Frankfurt in 2018 for €5.5m, is valued at €19m by FootballTransfers.
