Arsenal are close to completing a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk after weeks of negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk over a transfer for the winger.

The Gunners have long wanted the player and even had a bid rejected earlier in the January transfer window, however, a deal looks set to be completed soon.

Mikel Arteta wished to improve his side to maintain their title charge in the Premier League and he will be happy to add a player like Mudryk to his side.

In goal, Aaron Ramsdale will continue as the undisputed number one, as he has been since signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2021.

Ben White has been impressing at right-back over the course of this season and should continue in this position for the rest of the campaign.

The centre-back duo of William Saliba and Gabriel has done well, with the former doing excellently in the first half of the campaign and should be up for top honours until the end of the season.

Arsenal signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer and he will take up the left-back position with Kieran Tierney there to deputize.

The midfield duo of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have done well, adding solidity and fluidity to the midfield and they will take up the positions for the rest of the season.

The attack is a thrilling prospect, with Bukayo Saka performing exceptionally well on the right side and Martin Odegaard showing his leadership over the course of the campaign.

The left wing is where Mudryk will slot in, taking up the place from Gabriel Martinelli, who has done quite well himself this season.

He will be supporting the forward, Gabriel Jesus, who is currently out of action due to an injury he sustained while on World Cup duty, but when he’s back, this will be an exciting forward line to witness.

There are other options on the bench and Arsenal will have a squad worthy of challenging for top honours and returning to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.
