Five strikers Man Utd could sign on loan

Joao Felix, Atletico Madrid, 2022/23

Manchester United are keen to strengthen their attacking line in the January transfer window with the squad being thin in that area going into the second half of the season.

Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that is where he wants to reinforce his squad, following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and they were left with just Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as senior forwards.

The Red Devils were gazumped to the signing of Cody Gakpo by rivals Liverpool and will need to look for options elsewhere to help their cause.

So, which forwards could Manchester United sign in the January transfer window.

Joao Felix

Manchester United have been interested in the signing of Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix for a while and could get him in a loan deal until the end of the season, with the Spanish side open to letting him go as well.

He would cost a reported fee of €8 million to bring on a temporary basis, but the Red Devils will face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal for the Portuguese star.

Alvaro Morata

If not Felix, Manchester United could opt to sign his Atletico Madrid team-mate Alvaro Morata, who was of interest to Manchester United in the summer as well.

Atletico Madrid would be open to him leaving as well, with the Spanish club keen to improve their financial situation after their exit from Europe and may sanction Morata’s departure from the club.

Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus are in a financial pickle and it’s unclear what implications they may face after key figures in their board were forced to resign, but there have been suggestions it could lead to player sales.

If so, Dusan Vlahovic is one forward Manchester United will look to sign and given his age and potential, it could indicate and excellent deal for the Red Devils.

Memphis Depay

Barcelona are open to letting go of Memphis Depay and he won’t cost too much to sign permanently: this deal would make sense for both clubs and the player himself.

Depay could get the chance to redeem himself at Manchester United after a difficult first spell and he could have a point to prove should

he move to Old Trafford.

Moussa Dembele

Moussa Dembele’s form has tailed off a tad this season but his talent is still clear: he’s great with his hold-up play and could be a good fit based on his attributes.

Manchester United could land the Lyon forward on loan or on the cheap as well, given his contract runs out at the end of the season and the 26-year-old could be a good option to have.
