Chelsea transfer news: Consider move for ex-Tottenham youngster

Noni Madueke, PSV, 2022/23

Chelsea are interested in former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Noni Madueke, according to reports.

The Times claim that the Blues are considering a move for the PSV forward, who has started just one game in the Eredivisie this season.

Madueke has been out with an ankle injury, so the timing of Chelsea’s interest has come under plenty of criticism.

Owner Todd Boehly has already been described as having a ‘scattergun’ approach and this will only add fuel to the fire.

The west London club’s summer signings were all quality players, but lacked a sense of direction.

And a move for Madueke would also make little sense, having scored just once in the 2022-23 season.

Chelsea have signed plenty of ‘projects’ over the years that haven’t panned out and the England under-21 international would certainly come under that category.

Albeit an established international player, the Blues are looking at signing another young attacking talent with a lot to prove in Joao Felix

Joao Felix to Chelsea

Chelsea have beaten Manchester United and Arsenal to the loan signing of Joao Felix.

The trio have been heavily linked with a move for Felix in recent months, but the Portugal international is close to joining Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

On the back of a difficult run of games, where manager Graham Potter has come under pressure, owner Boehly appears to have backed his man.

The Blues have agreed to pay Atletico Madrid £9 million as well as covering his full wages.

No buy option has yet been agreed, but Chelsea will certainly be eyeing up a permanent transfer for Felix, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The west London club are in desperate need of creativity, having scored just 20 goals in the Premier league this season, which is what Felix should provide.
